Three new recipients of the Parker Skiba Memorial Endowed Presidential Scholarship have been awarded to Siddhi Bansal, Kaustubh Sonawane and Jasmine Bell at the University of Texas at Austin Computer Science Program. This brings the total to 24 scholarships from this program since its inception in early 2018. These three exceptional students will inevitably leave a mark on the world in their lives and make the world a better place. Below is some information on them. Congrats!

Siddhi Bansal

Siddhi is a Computer Science student at UT Austin with entrepreneurial ambitions. Her hobbies include programming, biking, baking, and swimming. She is passionate about artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. She is researching the distribution of galaxies and clusters of galaxies by designing algorithms developed in computational geometry and data analytics with Python. As an intern at an Austin-based ed-tech startup (as part of Texas Convergent), she is creating a recommendation filtering system that uses AI to recommend educational resources to users.

Kaustubh Sonawane

Kaustubh is a freshman in the Computer Science and Business Honors Program (CSB) at UT Austin from Plano, TX. Kaustubh is actively involved with organizations such as the Texas Product Engineering Organization (TPEO), where he applies his product-focused mindset for aiding Austin community organizations with software solutions. Kaustubh has been active in the startup community by launching ventures such as Wager, a peer-to-peer social betting platform on the blockchain, and working with other startups. In his free time, Kaustubh enjoys practicing his electric guitar, making beats, and rock climbing.

Jasmine Ball

Jasmine is a sophomore in the Computer Science and Business Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin. She is from Argyle, Texas, a small town outside of Fort Worth, and her interests lie in data science, problem solving, and software development. When she’s not in class or studying, you can often find her at the library or spinning vinyl in her room.
